Delicious monster - Monstera received its very appropriate name, because the fruit is particularly delicious, when properly ripened. Its described as a a true tropical punch with a mixture of flavours of banana, pineapple and hints of strawberry and or coconut. Be aware about proper ripening though, because the unripe fruit contains potassium oxalate crystals, that will sting your throat and skin when the fruit is unripe.

This is just an extra bonus, besides of course it is a very popular plant, because it is so spectacular. It just instantly brings nature into any home.
If your house sometimes feels cold and empty. This plant is what you need. They do well outside as well. They are tropical plants and prefer warmer climates. They take a bit of a knock if the cold is too extreme, but they usually make it. Especially if they are protected by rocks, walls or other plants and have some good mulch.
They do the same for a garden as they do for a house, they provide that great rainforest, tropical look.

Give them a proper watering once to 3 times a week, when the top 3 cm of ground has dried out. Apply a little worm tea feed, about once every month or 3, and only put them in indirect sunlight. Their leaves will scourge otherwise. That's about the totality of what you have to do for this low maintenance beautiful and rewarding plant.

These plants needs good drainage and well composted soil. As they grow, they will need to be re-potted from time to time.
