I approach each painting with a clear vision—whether working in oils, acrylics, or mixed media, on canvas or board. My process is layered and intuitive, using both palette knives and delicate washes to reflect my mood or state of mind. My work is diverse, textured, and wildly colourful—a celebration of the beauty I see in people, nature, and the everyday moments that speak to me.
Based in Pretoria, South Africa, I studied art briefly at the University of Pretoria but found the institutional approach too limiting. True artistic freedom came later, as I began drawing and painting military subjects during my time as an artist for the South African Army. Since then, my subject matter has grown with me—from portraits to landscapes, flowers to clouds, each piece guided by instinct and emotion. My work isn’t bound by a single theme; it reflects my mood and intuition. Each layered piece is a celebration of beauty, emotion, and the world around us.
I quote Picasso often: “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” That’s what I hope to offer—art that brings depth, color, and soul into any space.
